My will was lodged at the court when I bought my flat 10 years ago. Naturally the solicitor has named himself as executor, which I didn't realise until recently. Can I just copy the wording of my will, changing only the executors' names and take it to the court to take the place of the original one?
By the way, 10 years ago I was charged 400 CYP for this will, that's nearly €700! Nearly fell off my chair when they gave me the bill as my previous UK will had only cost me about 50 GBP. Solicitors, don't you just love 'em.
How much did it cost for a codicil to be added? We have mirror wills.
Did Willpower do your wills? If so, the codicil addition appears to be part of the service.
Willpower arranged our original wills, as such adding the codicils is a free service offered by them and they even provided the template to be used.
Remembering a thread about this a few weeks ago on CL, Willpower made a statement that people with wills, not originally through them, could have their wills amended to include the necessary declaration at half of the normal cost - £70 for a single will or £100 for a double/mirror will.
Of course it would make sense to check the cost of having this done through your own solicitor/lawyer but at least you would now have figures to base costs on.
