I would think twice about the cabriolet. The summer sun destroys the tops in months here in Cyprus, winter rains are often intense and find any gaps. Also can be very dusty here with the top down and you get cooked in the intense sunshine.
For the above reasons there are not many open tops on the road so quite difficult to find a used one. Very Happy

Tennis is not big in Paphos but here is the details. I think anyone who wants to play this in summer during the day in Cyprus is loopy. https://cyprustennis.wordpress.com/tennis-clubs/

Lots of second hand shops for that TV & fridge. Very Happy

Lots of cabrios have steel roofs these days , have to agree you do get cooked in the summer months if you have it down . Had mine for 4 years now , still getting some wind in my hair while I have some left . Wink

Oh and welcome Hellas , I see you are from down under , G'day Cobber .

I have a Megane hard top convertible and it is great. We like using it with the hood down in the evenings as weather is perfect. But yes in the really hot months it is nice to have the proper roof and good air con.

Also if looking to buy a car check the road tax prices as they can get very dear, even a 2000cc is a lot now. And make sure there is no back tax to pay. I got caught on a Land Rover Discovery. I ended up having to pay 2 years back tax and the current year. That cost me a fortune. So I wont get caught on that again.

When you say in the title 'Paphos' - does that mean you are going to be living at the western end of the island?

This board is for Eastern - maybe google 'Paphos People' or 'Cyprus Living' for the west Smile

Mine is the megane as well only problems I have had are the electric window winders , cost about 400 each to be fitted at main dealers . They are a well documented problem , but I have to live with it , had 2 done so far .

Mac69 was it the rears that broke? I had to replace 1 on a Megane I had here. I managed to get one from a company in Leicester for about 110 I think. I fitted it myself and it was a fairly OK job to do. I enjoy having the cabriolet as at least in Cyprus you can actually make use of it.

Not sure if I would like a fabric roof as I would think they would get very stuffy. Also I must admit it can get a bit dusty inside but that's what the car cleaners are for

It was 1 front and 1 rear , thanks for the thought on the replacement , but I can't do jobs like that anymore . The car is actually 10 years old now so touch wood the window winders last me a few more years . Laughing

Just because the forum is named Eastern Owners doesn't mean those from the west coast cannot be a member, if you read through postings you will see there are those who live in Paphos etc. who regularly post on here just as there are many living on the eastern side who are members of the west coast forums, there are no restraints as to which forums you post on. Obviously this forum is more relevant to the eastern members but there are often posts which are pertinent to the whole of the Republic.

Indeed. For instance advice about buying/hiring cars. Lots of stuff that applies island wide.
