According to recent news Private educational establishments with deposits in BOC and/or Laiki will participate in the bail-in.

There are already rumours that at least one school is very badly hit by the lock of funds in laiki.

Indirectly the financial crisis is also affecting private school numbers as parents are moving their children to the state sector. I heard at least one school is "letting go" two staff.

Not good news for the Children.

Is it such a disaster for children to go to a State School here?

one must wonder where so many parents feel the need to get extra tuition for their children outside of school hours, (not that private school pupils are immune to this)

The 'private' schools largely follow the UK curriculum and the pupils sit IGCSE's and A Levels.
