My two soon to be grandchildren have asked to go on a picnic. As adults we have done this in Cyprus many times, but often after driving up the Troodos, once to Aphrodites Rock and a number of times to village locations in the foothills, I think this is too far for them at age 9 and 11 in this heat, so could do with some suggestions if anyone has any a bit closer to home. Thank you in anticipation. Smile

Go down to Ayious Anagyros in Cape Greko. You know by the church where the sea caves are.

Nice picnic site just up from there.

Lyn,
If You stand by the little church with the caves on your right, the picnic area is up the hill to your left...... the tables are covered, theres also a little play park but thats not covered.

Oh just a note though, wear plenty mozzie repellant, we were eaten alive the last time we were there Sad

There's also a nice picnic/BBQ site in the National Park in Arradippou. Turn off the motorway at the roundabout, right at the lights and folow the signs into the park. There are toilets and running water available.

As with all these sites, bring your mossie repellent.

Coming up the hill from Dhekelia Road, keep going to the village centre where the taverna with the blue/white tablecloths outside and the digital clock stands. Go left and immediately right, past the Mantra entrance and left again where the sign points up the hill to the Prophet Elias church. Up the hill and you'll see the carpark.

That's our regular and favourite one.

Yes they have excellent shaded tables and adjacent loos.
