I need some advice on Medical care. when i become a resident and fill in the immigration form for temporary residence they request medical insurance. some say our E.health card is ok some say its not i don't want to work in cyprus if possible full time but i could do part time self employed. I don't know how to register for this either, the pink card qualification I don't no what its for or how you qualify for it or do i take out a costly private medical insurance ( can anyone recommend a good one) this seems a bit of a request from you but when you are in the dark up a creek with no paddle all i can ask is for you good peoples advice
looking forward to some interesting advice
As far as I'm aware, this is the situation...
If you have moved here permanently your EHIC is no longer valid. You should have obtained a form E106 prior to leaving the UK. If you have paid sufficient NI contributions in the UK this form will entitle you to the equivilent NHS cover here in Cyprus. It will only be valid for maybe 2 years, after which time you either need private medical insurance or to be contributing to the Cypriot equivilent of NI contributions. To do this you need to register as a worker, probably self employed, and pay something like 500€ per quarter. This will give you a pink card for medical and also go towards your state pension when that time arrives.
If you are already of state pensionable age a form E121 will give you the NHS type cover here.

you have been most helpfull
I have to decide which is the best option e106 and loose my benefits in the Uk. travel and live termporary between uk and cyprus and use E medical card 90 days until i retire (a couple of years yet) maybe private medical insurrance could be an option if i can find a good one in Cyprus
It seems I'm in no mans land wait for my state UK pension which is due to Change to average earning as once you take your pension to live abroad every freezes in the Uk and you are stuck like many residents all over the world with no increases.
Who do you register with to work in cyprus.
