Paralimni hospital said we had to get my father in law to Nicossia hospital but because he's not currently an in-patient the hospital would not provide one. This of course is understandable but because of his current condition was a complete panic for us. He is now unable to move at all and is bedridden so putting him in a car is a non-starter.
Just wanted to let you know that we hired a private ambulance from the Lito clinic, it was a little pricey but the service we received was amazing. We had the driver (of course) and we were asked if we wanted a nurse OR a doctor (you have to have someone) clearly your choice would depend on your circumstances. The driver and the nurse were very kind and extremely helpful even at the other hospital, i would have no hesitation in using them again although i hope of course that we have no need to!
I want to try and help people by sharing some of the experiences we're having at the moment so that we can all gain from it. I just hope i'm not starting too many threads
You know I'm thinking of you and your family right now and you're having a dreadful time. However it's good that you're finding the time to post your experiences on here. What you are going through right now is something that many of us could face in the future so by reading your posts we may be better prepared. It is very difficult when you settle in another country and you don't know which way to turn.
Thank you Jackie, i just don't want people to have to panic like we have. It's so much extra added stress that could well be done without. I have a few more things i want to post about too but don't have time just now. Alan back in hospital today, will have to see what challenges tomorrow brings
