Can anyone tell me if the contraceptive pill is available at the Paralimni General Hospital?
I have a friend with a 16 year old daughter and she wants her to go on the pill, can she just go the the hospital or do you have to make an appointment?
Do you have to pay for appointment or prescription?
Will she need to take any documentation with her.

Any info would be appreciated [/b]

Don't know the answer but you could ask at the pharmacy first.

My experience with my daughter is they dont really like to give out the pill to girls under 18. However, if it is for troublesome periods, they will arrange for a blood test to check hormone levels, and then prescribe the pill when the results come back (about a month).

Assuming youre covered by the health system, you make an appointment to see a Gynae, pay 2 euros on the appointment day, nothing for the blood test, make another appointment to see Gynae again, then 2 euros on appointment day again.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for that Kathy, think I'll tell my friend to take her to a private clinic, seems a silly thing not to give it to under 18's in this day and age!!!
