Is anyone gonna watch this year..It's just starting. I think Simon has the best group this year, Suprise, suprise. Motown tonight, my kind of music. Ruth

Posted By: marion

Hi Ruth Just seen the first four... they are fantastic... and such nice people too. Brings tears to my eyes to see their enthusiasm and gratitude and happiness. Marion

Posted By: kipper889

Well Marion, What do you think? For me the outstanding act was Robert. Although I think Ashley could have a lot to come. Great show, the standard is very high this year. I think the McDonald boys will go tonight, compared to the rest they were very ordinary. Ruth

Posted By: chuckie

I've sort of been watching this, in between cooking and bits of Strictly Come Dancing. But I was amazed that the brothers got through and Dionne had to sing again. Haven't got a favourite yet 'cos I haven't seen enough to form an opinion. Carol

Posted By: kipper889

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong!!! The public don't know what they are missing with the unconventionals. Louis stuffed it up again with their song. Ruth

Posted By: marion

Agree, Ruth. Robert, Ben and Ashley are my faves so far. Dionne didn't deserve a re-sing. MacDonalds, Nikitta and Kerry were just so-so. On to next week... Marion

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Hi all, No ITV here - who left tonight?? My sister-in-law went to the auditions this time and is very good (she sang at my wedding) but unfortunately didn't get through :( Cheers Steve

Posted By: kipper889

Hi Steve, The unconventionals left. Louis made a big mistake with their song. I thought the McDonalds were the weakest. When are you home?

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Ruth, Only a few more days unfortunately - will be back early Thursday :( Really good lightning display tonight though - all the clouds have been lit up - warm but a bit overcast today - still I like it like that and the residents seem to appreciate the change :D Wasn't sure about the unconventionals - I don't mean about their talent but more about whether they would sell records. Thanks for letting us know! Cheers Steve

Posted By: Ristac

Dionne has the wrong attitude, I would have voted her out ahead of the un-conventionals. I have been watching Vincent and Entourage both very good. Missed the first couple of the Extra's so will get it on DVD.

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Hi, Anyone still watching this and own up who is voting for the Macdonalds?? I just can't see why they are kept in as in terms of the rest of the talent I do think they are a bit average. Maybe it's me but they just don't seem to have that spark. Any thoughts?? Cheers Steve

Posted By: chuckie

Quite agree with you Steve. I thought they'd be out this week. Ben, Leona, Robert and Ashley are the best. Although Ashley wasn't so good this week. Ray's not bad also. Did you see the snog on Saturday? Carol

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Hi Carol, I did see the snog lol - Ozzie won't be best pleased  Agree with your choices - just hope the public does :) Cheers Steve

Posted By: marion

Agree with you. MacDonalds have nothing special. I like Ben, Leona, Robert, Ashley and Ray. It's so difficult when they have to conform to the genre of the week. Swing isn't everybody's forte... neither is Abba for next week, or Rod Stewart last week. Ben is my top favourite. And, of course, I love the banter of the judges. And the snog. But on the whole, I do think Simon has the contestant's interests at heart. Whereas the other two seem more intent on beating each other. Marion

Posted By: Steve - SJD

    Marion

Agree there Marion - although he's sometimes brutal about it he is
usually spot on with his comments IMO.
Cheers
Steve

How the hell the brothers still in makes me think its a fix or a big scotish vote think i better start to vote the best is Leona what singer & not only agaist the xfactor group but best singer by whats out here now in the music world :D Jane

Posted By: Hogarth55

Simon is right, The McDonalds are boring, I think Ben or Leona will win.

Posted By: pegasus

Even Rod Stewart doesn't think much of the McDonalds' if you heard his radio interview. "To tell you the truth I thought so many of them were rubbish," he told Virgin Radio host Christian O'Connell, not realising that his comments were being broadcast. "I was very disappointed with the Scottish contingent, especially the two boys in the kilts. I didn't want to say it on the programme. The overall quality is nowhere near what it is in the States." I personally don't rate Ben but accept he's different, I expect Leona to be there in the final but other than that I think the public vote at this stage is making things hard to predict. Phil

Posted By: Steve - SJD

 I don't know why I keep watching it  Niether of those two should have been in the bottom two IMHO. The Macdonald brothers should again have gone after another unconvincing performance. Louie just picked Ashley as he didn't want Simon to still have four left! Cheers Steve

Posted By: Balconia

Oh Come on Steve Ashley was out of tune this evening as was Nikitta. have to say thought Robert was ok - though the lovely Simon was right- he is a bit like Billy Ocean. Leona was by far the best and i didn't think the Macdonald Brothers were that bad tonight - certainly better than Nikitta and Ashley. to be honest i felt sorry for all of them - I love Abba but they are hard songs to sing. Still love Ray the cheeky chappie from Liverpool

Posted By: kipper889

This was so wrong, wrong, wrong, tonight. The Mcdonut bros. have robbed another artist of a place. Ashley has so much more to give, he is one of the truely unique singers. I just wish he had a chance to show his talent. Just look at his audition pure brilliance. I think this theme thing is so wrong. The judges keep banging on about being versitile, this is not a stage actors contest, these are supposed to be artists who will sell records. They need to have a personal style. They are not being a chance to shine in their personal ability. Wrong!!!!! Very upset, Ruth

Posted By: marion

Just who is voting for the MacDonalds? They are just OK, nothing more. Same with Nikita. But it's tight for the rest. They all have something good. I still love Ben and Leona is fantastic. Ray's a cutie - and swings - what a performer. Robert has toned his act down to the right level. Eton Road have something too. Poor Ashley... did he deserve to go? He'll do well. Still point scoring among the judges. Not good for the contestants but good for the viewers. I've learnt so much from them though over the years. Bring on next week... Marion

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Carol, For me tonight on performance it was: Leonna Eaton Rd Ben Ray Robert Ashley Nikkita Macdonald Brothers I just find that the brothers always play safe and whilst Ok singers don't set the place alight and could be a Bar/Cruise act. I don't like the theme idea either! I know the rivalary/competition between the judges is an integral part of the show but I do think some good acts are sacrificed along the way because of it! Looks like Simon was very angry as he wouldn't appear on the after show. Not that I was really watching it much  Cheers Steve

Posted By: dawnnett

I Think it will be down to Leonna and Ben . it will be a photo finish Dawn

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Hi all, Well here's my score for tonight  Leonna (Fantastic tonight!) Robert Ben Ray Nikkita Eton Road Macdonald bros. I do think the Macdonald brothers were a lot better tonight but still no sparkle for me. Cheers Steve

Posted By: Balconia

have to disagree yet again Steve- The Macdonald Bros were far better than Nikitta and Eton road were doing fine until that awful middle bit!!!! Come on Mcdonald Bros!!!! Leona to win   Ray - we love yu but you're getting a bit boring

Posted By: chuckie

Leona gets better and better doesn't she? Robert was also excellent, and what a sad story. Didn't think much of Ben tonight. He sang probably my favourite song but didn't do a good job. Carol

Posted By: Balconia

Well what did i say - Pardon me for tellin you i told you so :bwink: Steve Well done Macdonald Brothers. Leona to win

Posted By: Steve - SJD

lol  Maybe Simon will learn a lesson and stop bad mouthing the Macdonald brothers - then people might vote on talent instead of feeling sorry for them and getting back at Simon. ](*,) Cheers Steve

Posted By: dawnnett

well i neednt put what i think in order.Steves done it .. just what i think in that order i thought robert sang better then he has done and not jumping around so much ben was one of my favs but not .tonight Leonnas won this ..without a dought Dawn

Posted By: Balconia

Steve     Yes yes yes - maybe the mcdonald brothers did get the sympathy vote to a certain extent but a helluva lot of people must have voted for them . Should have had a bet on it

Posted By: kipper889

No No No!!! This was wrong again tonight. The Mac's need to go if we are talking pure talent? They are very competent singers, but belong at weddings. Nikita deserved to stay for next week. I think the Macs will go next week followed by Eaton Road then Ray (although I love swing, he is too young to pull it off), That will leave Ben, Robert and Leonna in the final. Leona will win. That is my prediction not what I truly think. For me it is Robert all the way, he could have as good a voice as Vandross given time.. How much better was tonight without making them all stick to a theme? Ruth

Posted By: salopman

The theme this week was LOVE SONGS but we thought it was a pretty loose theme with some of them - yes agree - McDons should have gone, We predict a BEN,ROBERT and LEONA final with Leona winning - she is streets ahead of some of them, although Eton Rd do have the youngsters vote I think and that could be difficult to guage in final weeks.

Posted By: dawnnett

Ruth , just what i think Ray is good at weddings etc i also love swing robbie williams did a good version but you cant beat the old timers ..and im not that old but thier songs will go on and on i still think Leonna has won this and will be up against Ben even tho Robert did a good turn tonight still think nickita should still be in and the ....Mc dooogle brothers gone i found myself feeling sorry for them with simons comments ...but realisticly they havent got the Xfactor Dawn

Posted By: Elizavet

Being Scottish and no I dont rate the McDonald brothers , althought they are not terrible they are just OK, I find its getting a bit embarassing, every week Simon puts them down and then the Scots must all vote in their thousands because of what Simon says and thanks to that we end up in a situation like last night where I thought that the 2 battling it out for the judges vote was unjustified, I used to enjoy x factor now I keep tuning in but feel disappointed the way the show is going. Anyway when is Shayne Ward coming on ....cant wait.

Posted By: Kathyoke

Looks like Eton Road and Ray are not all what they seem, today in the News of the world, they say they were put together by a Management company. They have video of them all dancing together. The footage confirms BOTH acts were put together by professional management and entered into the talent hunt in a cynical attempt to fast-track them to stardom. The tape, in possession of the News of the World, also reveals that scouts experimented with including Ray as a member of the band before choosing to enter him as a solo artist. And Ray even says he DOESNT want to go on X Factor, because he doesnt want to be known as the XFactor Lad!!! Personally, I love swing, but Ray looks plastic. And Eton Road are just an average boyband. Leona will definitely win it.

Posted By: greeny

What can i add but for simon to shut up we know the brothers should not be in. voting for best singer this is about and not a hate vote to simon its a show not to end simons life if he went to scotland  simon not agaist scotts he had to say his 25% scott to try calm the hate agaist him.i dont think simon will do another show.for the other 2 laughing at simon enjoying the hate vote is wronge ahhhhh jane :?

Posted By: Ristac

I love Simon Cowell and it is all part of what makes the audience tune in every week. Simon knows Leona should walk it but women seem to get a lesser percentage of the vote. He cannot afford for wasted female votes to go to Nikita so he is glad that she is out. Ray is good at what he does, it would be like asking a rapper to release a smooth jazz song, Sharon and Louis are well off the mark and they see Ray as the weakest of Simons group, hence why they slate him each week. Simon needs to stop saying anything negative about the brothers grim as they are getting the sympathy vote. Robert next to go followed by McDonalds and then Ray 1st Leona 2nd Eton Road 3rd Ben With my nasty norris head on, did anyone else wonder how Leona has such stunning looks when you look at her parents, how did they produce her!!

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Shocked again..... Leona Ben Robert Ray Mcdonald Bros. Eaton Road That's the way I had it - no way Robert should have gone  Cheers Steve

Posted By: Balconia

Come on McDonald Bros- You deserve to stay after tonights performance!! Thought Eton Road were terrible !! Leona to win

Posted By: Kathyoke

Tactical by Simon, lets face it Eton Road havent got a chance to win, but Robert was a threat. Remember no woman has won it before, and Simons worried that the public, will just assume that Leona will get the votes and start voting for someone else.

Posted By: beersmaggie

Robert GONE, nooooo no way should he have gone I agree with you Steve. That awful group Eton Road are absolute crap and should have gone long ago with the McDonalds, but I have to say that the McD's performance last night was quite good. Oh by the way if you are wondering how I am watching it here, no I dont have a house swallowing dish, I just watch it on BFBS :!: I get a good signal up here, I am on a hill facing Dekalia and I can see the power station chimneys from here. ......Maggie Larnaca

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Hi, Well difficult one this week as they all seemed to up their game - here's my choice: Leonna & Ben Ray & Macdonald Bros. Eton Road We shall wait and see.... :D Cheers Steve

Posted By: Steve - SJD

I woz right :D though Ben shouldn't have been in the bottom two. Cheers Steve

Posted By: chuckie

Another good show tonight. I'm going to miss the final 'cos we leave for Cyprus on the 5th. Never mind. AOL are doing a poll and of course I voted. The Macdonald bros had about 60.000 votes the next highest was Leona with 13.000 Well, well are they going to win it? Carol

Posted By: beersmaggie

Well I'm still watching it on BFBS thankfully. No Ben should not have been in the bottom 2, it should have been the McDonalds with Eton Road who are both absolute crap :!: Lets hope they go out next week, we will see, but I wouldnt like to be a judge with the last 3 but here goes. Leona, stunning voice Ben, sexy and very versatile Ray, I like Ray but he's a singer behind his time and I never was a Sinatra rat pack fan. Cant wait for next week :D .........Maggie Larnaca

Posted By: greeny

It a shame xfactor votes are turning into scotish vote the brothers cant sing sad each week better singers are voted out because of them i hope next week there out :? jane

Posted By: dawnnett

i think it will be down to Leaona and Ben ....photo finish but Leaona will win ...my opinion Dawn

Posted By: Steve - SJD

So Saturday night again - who's going to go tonight I wonder???? Cheers Steve

Posted By: marion

Please, oh my ... please let it be the MacDonalds after that performance... I can't bear any more.
Marion

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Leona ^^ Simply Fantastic! Agree Marion there is simply no comparison! Wow great performance by Ray! Cheers Steve

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Leona - Ben - Ray = It just has to be ! Great show tonight! Cheers Steve

Posted By: marion

Agree Steve... I have tears in my eyes from their performances... I love Ben as I'm a soul nut, but Leona is up amongst the world's stars. Marion

Posted By: JimPernera

Bye Bye MacDonalds - Simons prediction came true!!!

Posted By: salopman

Was the correct result me-thinks I thought Rays version of My Way was very good and far above his years Leona as ever a class act and sure to win Ben - not quite so polished I didnt think this week but still good I predict : 1. leona - By miles 2. Ben 3. Ray Paul

Posted By: Elizavet

If the Macdonald brothers had got through this week I was phoning in sick at work, I could.nt face another week of it at work. thank god they are out I might get some peace now

Posted By: marion

Hey, Elizavet... don't abuse your sickies... you need them for extra trips to Cyprus  Marion

lol
I am ok   I have plenty holidays left its Phil who struggles. but you have no idea the ribbing i have taken because of those 2 over the last few weeks.I was actually praying they would be voted off   oh and not forgetting there choice of song,

Posted By: Hogarth55

:D The cringing is over!! Leona to win.

Posted By: Ristac

My wife wants Ben out, she thinks he is false and has a mean lip.... Women's way of judging for you  Richard

Posted By: Jan

Hi, Well likewise I want and think that Leona will win she is certainly a top class act. Ben I think reminds me of Gilbert OSullivan when he used to sing that song "Claire" and that is why my daughter's middle name is Claire. However if I am honest I do not think he will become a massive star. Ray. well he is Cliff Richard all over in his young days. Great personality and from our neck of the woods as well. Hope he is second. Jan

Posted By: marion

Anyone know if it's being shown in any bars around Kapparis this weekend? Marion

Posted By: kipper889

Hi Marion, We were in Cy last year when the final of BB was about to happen, our regular bar was totally unaware. We told them about it and they then put a board outside advertising it. They had one of the busiest nights all season and we got free drinks the whole evening for tipping them off. Just ask at your favorite bar, I'm sure they will switch the telly over for you. Ruth

Posted By: marion

Thanks, Ruth. It's not the final but as near as damn it. The local bars only seem to air sport, but I can only ask. Cheers, Marion

Posted By: dawnnett

What another fabulous.fantastic performance from Leaonna she sang those 2 songs as good as the original artists the some where over the rainbow was played at my mothers funeral so that certainly brought tears and a Big Lump to my throat well done Leaonna ...shes a winner Dawn

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Hi Dawn, Have to agree - fantastic performance!!! What can you say brilliant! Everyone was great tonight and think it will be a difficult choice - for me Leonna has to go through and i'm really split on who should join her. Hope Marion got to watch it :D Cheers Steve

Posted By: dawnnett

Hi Steve. well iv been Ben all through , second to Leaonna ...but tonights performance my opinion Ray took the edge with Leaonna streets ahead Dawn

Posted By: beersmaggie

Well Ben is OFF, what a shame I would have liked to have seen him go through with Leona who surely must be the winner. Ray's Never Walk Alone had a few bumb notes in it and it was not his best performance. He is basically a ratpack singer and I have said this before, but Robie Williams has already been there and done it, so sorry Ray, no room at the top for another. Good luck to Ben I do hope he makes it and I will be buying any CD's that he records..........Maggie Larnaca

Posted By: greeny

:D Good to see the best 3 singers i dont think any of them be going back to work  For me any of them to win i be happy Jane

Posted By: Kathyoke

I agree with Maggie, Ray was definitely the weakest on the night. He should have been voted off, but he played the sympathy card and cried (for his bad performance I reckon), weve seen that before with a former XFactor winner :x It should be about talent, and as far as im concerned Leona has got it. :D

Posted By: marion

Poor Ben... never mind... didn't get to see it... all the bars had sport on. Mike better not have messed up the video recording! I get back half way through the final next week so will also watch the repeat on Sunday. Marion

Posted By: dawnnett

have to agree Ben should of been in the final ,not panto ray i did think he sang ok , but hes not got the x factor Dawn

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Great Series - Great Final - Great Winner!!!   Happy at the outcome! Cheers Steve

Posted By: beersmaggie

I am so glad that that smarmy little **##@@>> didnt win, Leona was the biz :!: :!: .........Maggie Larnaca

Posted By: salopman

Well done to LEONA - she was CLASS as she always is, Ray was a worthy second though and well done all !!! p.s. The Winners song had LEONA written all over it will be her song i feel.

Posted By: Kathyoke

The song was originally sung by a man anyway, Ben had recorded a rock version of it, Ray a swing version I would imagine (thats all he could sing),I dont think the song would have mattered anyway as Leona made all the songs sound like 'her own'. A very worthy winner, Ray can go back to the stage where he came from, or Butlins, he'd be very good there. He was upstaged by Westlife, but Leona sang WITH Take That...... She will be a star :D

Posted By: marion

Grrr... missed it last night and just seen the result on the BBC news page... I'm going to watch the repeat today. But I think Leona was a foregone conclusion. Looking forward to seeing the show later. Marion

Was it WESTLIFE or BOYZONE ?? LOL :D :D one of them anyway!!!

Posted By: dawnnett

Fantastic final.....when Leaona sang with take that it was the biz and we will see her at no 1 Dawn

Posted By: Bobbeer

Doesn't take much to sing with Take That, none of them can sing anyway!!

Posted By: dawnnett

Bob ...can you do better then? Dawn

Posted By: Ristac

  • Bobbeer wrote:

I hold my hands up to seeing them in concert this year, they were actually very good. Glad Leona won, have to agree with the single though, I think it was written with her in mind.. I cannot help feel that it sounds more like a Eurovision entry. It will be interesting now to see if she gets some decent material to sing over the next 18 months. Anyone remember Shane Ward??

Posted By: JimPernera

Shane WHO???

Posted By: dawnnett

Bob , regarding your last post what music /singer do you like ? Dawn

Posted By: Bobbeer

Dawn, Magic Moments by Perry Como Anything from any member of the Beatles Military Bands Classical Rock Classical

Posted By: Yvette

Scary thing is Dawn, I don't think he's joking....

Posted By: Tina Torment

Nah, neither do I.....and he needs a shave! Just look at that avatar?

Posted By: journeyman

Must admit it was Ray all the way for me, Thought he was miles better. Leona good but she just one of many . But good luck to them all. The only winners are the TV company and Simon's bank account. Graham

Posted By: journeyman

Bobbeer, The beatles now you must be having a Laugh, Lol. Also magic Moments I only know the Rugby version. Graham

Posted By: dawnnett

Magic momments .....well they must be how old is that i can remeber my grandad singing that Take that are at no 1 ..again so millions must think your wrong Bob

Posted By: Balconia

Dawn I suspect that we are roughly the same age - and i remember magic moments as they still play it on the radio very often.  I am a bit of a music officianado ( if that word is spelt incorrectly i apologise in advance Mr Charnwood ) I have a massive music collection ( both vinyl and CD) and have a very wide musical taste- Which includes the Beatles!! and would never seek to poke fun at anyone elses taste in music. Don't fall over Journeyman but i agree with you on this - I preferred Ray!! Mind you - I loved the McDonald Brothers - and spent a fortune voting for them

Posted By: dawnnett

Carol good job we arent all the same i couldnt stand the mcdonald brothers and Ray would be ok in panto i loved Leaons voice and Ben came second in my opinion no i dont hear magic momments much on beacon radio like i said it was the biz when Take that sang with Leaona so why can anyone say they cant sing ....rubbish Dawn

Posted By: Balconia

Can you hear the drums Fernando - The Mcdonald brothers singing this were the Biz !!!!!!

Posted By: dawnnett

like i say Carol good job were diffrent .... Dawn

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Hi, I think all the top three will end up doing well to be honest. Leona & Ray have both got deals and am sure that someone will sign Ben up. Anyway end of another series - I don't fancy the new talent show that S. Cowell is doing but will have to see :) Cheers Steve

Posted By: Balconia

Dawn wrote :

I agree Dawn - What a boring old world it would be if we all liked the same things.

Posted By: Ristac

Leona just one of many!! I thought she had an outstanding voice... With just a few weeks in training camp they come on leaps and bounds, as Gary Barlow said, get her a good songwriter and she can take the charts by storm.. As for Ben, I think he needs to join a rock band, I cannot see him making a solo career.

Posted By: journeyman

ristac, like i said just one of many, anybody with the right song can make it. At this time of year just have to look at The pougues(spelling) and kirsty Macall(again spelling). Brilliant record though and one of the best Xmas songs ever. Graham

Posted By: dawnnett

Hi Graham
So you don't think that she has got an exceptional voice and she will be different from previous winners? I did not like the winners single, I cannot wait for her to be given a catchy number to sing...

Posted By: journeyman

Ristac, Yes I Agree she has a good voice, But that winners song is just terrible and the only reason she will get to No1 is because she won and that alone. If it was anybody else looking after her interest's rather than Simon then maybe I would warm to her more. I will always give 10 out of 10 to any singer regardles of talent who can get on stage and preform. Graham

Interesting comments about Simon, I used to think he was a great bloke, his arrogance part of his selling point but I have gone off him a little recently. Yes he will have his own interest at heart first and it might be a year before Leona starts getting her own team together and a move away from the Simon camp. However, he is big in the USA and the difference between being very good and a 'great' is cracking the USA, something Robbie has always dreamed of...
