It's a bit pathetic to be honest. When you choose a number, there are either 5 of that colour which are then spread between one of 5 houses. They are the only 2 steps that are needed to tie it down to a simgle number, the rest is just irrelevant flannel to confuse & amaze the dimwits of this world.

If that one amazes you, then try this one: http://www.bored.com/mysticalball/index.htm which at least is a bit more clever in the way it works.

I've seen this one before but in another form.........same format, so I know exactly how it works.
It's a clever trick and I'm not going to spoil it for others, so have fun everyone.

Think multiples of nine and you won't be far away ;)

Murf62 is right. It's to do with a mathematical concept known as "the rule of nines" and it basically works like this...................
Take any number, say 53 and add the two digits together and you will get 8 (5+3). Now take the 8 from 53 and you'll get 45. 45 is divisible by 9.
Try another, say 76, add them together and you get 13, so take 13 from 76 and you get 63............again divisible by 9.
You can do this as many times as you like with any double figures and it will always be divisible by 9.
Look at the chart with the symbols and you'll see that every number that 9 will divide into has the same symbol and that symbol changes each time you play the game just to baffle you even more.
It's very cleverly done.
