Every so often I find something that takes my breath away. I heard about this man this on the BBC World Service this afternoon.
As a young lad, suffering from dyslexia and learning difficulties at the age of 5 he started building houses for ants so they would have somewhere to live, then started making hats & shoes for them.
This has developed into his career. using a microscope he sculpts & paints bits of plastic ties.
Here's Henry VIII with spouses (in the eye of a needle).

During the interview he gave the reporter a needle, who said that there appeared to be some fluff in the eye, looking at it under a 500x microscope he could make out man in spacesuit (Buzz Aldrin) saluting an American flag - the sculptor said it was 1/3 the size of a newspaper full-stop, whilst the reporter described Aldrin's backpack.
See his gallery HERE .

That was amazing thanks Kwacka, I read his site with interest and the video showing him sculpting by hand is unbelievable. I would love to see one of his exibitions. Roy

    Roy

One of the things that he said in his interview is that he has sometimes inhaled his work - working away, mobile rings, he breathes in and his sculpture disappears.

I have a collection of Chinese painted snuff bottles.
Examples taken from t'interweb:

So what, you may say.
Well, they are painted on the INSIDE, through the neck of the bottle using brushes as fine as an eyelash.
I've watched it being done. Amazing.
