 how is the resort of pernera this year anybody? over the past few years it seems to have been a struggle for the bar/restaurant owners, there doesnt seem to have been that many people going over the past four years or so

Hi was over there about a week ago staying at vrissiana while we looked at a future property and it was reasonably busy - some bars/restaurants were buzzing and others looked empty when we passed in the car

ive been down pernera a few times last couple of weeks and last night was the first time it looked reasonably busy, but talking to friends who work down pernera they are saying what few peolpe there are they are not spending in bars or restaurants...

I went for a meal at Blue Spice last night and that was busy, most tables taken and they had a dancing / singinging act which was nice. I've also started DJing at Alati on a Sunday afternoon, 4-7pm. They always have a fair few people in there at that time. That is a fantastic venue!

It's a new bar / restaurant opened on the seafront. It's next to Blue Spice.
There was a good crowd down yesterday afternoon / evening.

We have just returned yesterday. The plane we went on 29th June was only half full, and plane we returned on was only half full 24th July. We were there for 3.5 week and everywhere was quiet. The bars were empty and the prices in most places were still high. Ang

Just to confirm,Pernera is about 40% down in trade according to a bar owner......(won't say which). I was asked to perform there last Tuesday, and there were 8 people in the bar at 10pm !! Chris

I am not suprised the choice of flights are rubbish and very expensive, since the big boys TUI and Thomas Cook seem to be dictating prices .
I have told my brother he can use our place for his 2 week holiday, flights from Glasgow £720 for 2
What chance do businesses have when flights are that expensive. Even if the tourist can get there, they won't have as much to spend paying prices like that.

No - Niata was next door to Blue Spice (so I've been told). Alati is over the road right on the end by the beach.

this place on the right of this pic ? - Thats the Niata bar in the middle (as it was a few years back) to the left you can see blue spice...and over the road to the right of both of them, on the grass area leading to the beach...is it that?
seen here from nearer the bottom of the blue spice area with your back to the beach - the evandrea ?
and this is from the blue spice looking the other way, where the hotel anastasia is and their lounger area... here have they built something there?

That's the one. Looking at your pictures, it used to be called Evandrea. It looks quite a bit different now though.

George used to own and run the Evandrea, is the alati still his?

Posted By: Darryl

Not as far as I know. The owner is called Antonis. http://www.alati-protaras.com/ http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=85626173969

It's a bit in the middle - in a car about 5-10 minutes each way - walking
er longer
One thing to do - walk down to the beach in Pernera and then take the
beach path along to Protaras - nice views, nice walk and takes me about
20 mins with the children.
HTH
Cheers
Steve
