Trump praised Saudi Arabia for their public acknowlegement of the death of Jamal Khoshogi in its Istanbul consulate, calling it a "great step forward". He suggested that there should be sanctions of some kind but they would not include arms sales to the Saudis.
This week he tweeted:
    Quote:
  • Oil prices getting lower. Great! Like a big Tax Cut for America and the World. Enjoy! $54, was just $82. Thank you to Saudi Arabia, but letís go lower!

(The USA imports about four times as much oil from Canada as it does from Saudi Arabia)
Last month he tweeted:
    Quote:
  • "For the record, I have no financial interests in Saudi Arabia (or Russia, for that matter). Any suggestion that I have is just more FAKE NEWS (of which there is plenty)!"

In 1991, when he was bankrupt, he sold his yacht 'Princess' to Prince Alwaleed bin-Talal for $ 20 million (he'd bought it for around $30 million).
In 1995 Saudis invested in the (money losing) Plaza Hotel.
In 2001 he sold the entire 45th floor of the Trump World Tower for $12 million to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
After he announced he was running for president, he registered eight companies with names tied to Saudi such as 'THC Jeddah Hotel Advisor LLC' and 'DT Jeddah Technical Service' according to a financial disclosure report to the U.S. federal government.
At a rally in Arizona he said:
    Quote:
  • Saudi Arabia, I get along with all of them. They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million. Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.

A firm used by the Saudis spent $270,000 at his Washington hotel, whilst lobbying against a proposed bill to allow Americans to sue foreign governments for responsibility in the WTC attacks.

It hasn't seemed to have gotten much of a media airing but oil prices have dropped by 30% in the last 7 weeks and are now below $60 a barrel for the first time in a year.
Although, it seems prices at the pumps here have gone down.................. a few cents. :(

There will be no one to pick cabbages from the cabbage patch after Brexit
In fairness it would be hard not to talk about Trump when discussing the
current oil price.
Cheers

In which case supporters, heaven forbid - I'd be far too frightened on this forum these days - might suggest that perhaps he has a point. Not me though! Ohh, no Sir.
The oil price is plummeting because Saudi has ramped up production and Trump has "granted" concessions to certain importers, despite his Iranian blockade.
Also, when prices climb US shale production kicks in. An increase of more than 2 million barrels per day this year. Currently the US are the worlds biggest oil exporter.
Anyway - how come a 30% drop just results in a few cents off gas hereabouts? Ignoring the Brexit factors that is.

Yes Kwacka. Disgraceful. Nov 2020 canít come quickly enough.
Moving on. :D
Given that the price of oil has been ďplummetingĒ for almost 2 months now and is at its lowest in a year when are we likely to see a drop at the pumps? :-k Other than the paltry few cents recent cut and bearing in mind the 1000 litres of heating oil I just bought at top dollar that is.
