Don't know whether this is related, but my mechanic told me last week that under new (EU?) regs you cannot be a 'mobile' mechanic now, but that all work must be done on licenced premises. Can't see the point of this myself - have the car towed to 'licenced premises' when you may only need to be jump-started!

Hi Mark,
I am a little confused, but if you are mobile and need the land to trade, does that mean you are no longer mobile??
I thought the idea (and a good one too) of being mobile is just that!
Where does this land need to be?? And are you expecting customers to bring the vehicle to it??
I could ask around for you, if I know what you were after.

getting a license probably will be difficult until all the foreign run mobile car wash businesses are forced to close, then i bet your bottom dollar a cypriot will easily obtain a license and begin business. Before joining the EU , i believe that you had to have a Cypriot partner to be in business in Cyprus, perhaps a sleeping partner may speed up your application Mark, offer him and his family a few free car washes as renumeration per year may be enough as recompense for his cooperation.
