Greek Meatballs / Keftedes 1lb minced pork 2 large potatoes (Grated with water squeezed out) 1 large onion (finely chopped) Handful of chopped fresh flat leaf parsley tsp cinnamon tsp dried oregano tsp dried mint tsp baking powder 1 egg Salt & pepper Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Mould into various shaped even size balls. approx 2ins x 2ins Deep fry for approx 10 -12mins until brown. Delicious with salad, greek roast potatoes, pitta bread with Tahini salata made from sesame paste mixed with olive oil, garlic and lots of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Ruth

I love these. My mother-in-law uses 1/2 lamb mince 1/2 pork mince. Buddy

I do mine very similar but have garlic in there and don't use any egg (I find if the mince is cold that you can form balls and fry them and they keep the shape) Steve

Hi Steve, Funny you should bring this old post up, I now add a clove of chopped garlic too, I found it brings the flavour of the herb and spices out. I still add the egg though, can't think why I would leave it out, are you allergic to eggs? :lol: Ruth
