SONAR IPTV - got it on my Mag Box 254.

Many thanks for the replies.one company I have spoken too are quoting 30 to set box up and then 30 per month subscription thereon.does this sound extreme and is there a necessity for the box set up?tia

Posted By: paul1978

50-60 euro per annum is average cost. set up on mag takes no more than 5 mins never heard of anyone charging for set up.

It sounds extreme to me... I know some boxes are said to be 'locked' and therefore the new company have to 'unlock' them. But the maximum we have ever paid was 25 euros a month. I have not seen ones as cheap as Paul is mentioning. But do try to go with one that you pay Monthly, not yearly.. You don't want to lose almost a years subscription if things do go wrong.. Trev..

Gary The monthly cost will be related to the channels provided so whilst some providers are very cheap they may not have an expansive channel or movie library content. I have two IPTV setups and pay 20 per month for each package on a MAG 322. If you are providing your own box then Its probably fair enough that the provider charges some sort of setup charge as he is missing out on the profit from the box sale itself. There should no need for anyone to do a home install for you as 5 mins in a shop should be enough for most users with some Android or similar experience.

The below company provided me with the instructions on how to unblock my MagBox 254. Which I successfully did. I don't use their IPTV service, as, at the time, my Mag Box was in the UK, and they don't provide IPTV service in the UK, only abroad. So I use Sonar IPTV on my Mag Box, plus I have Mighty IPTV on my Firestick using the SmartIPTV App. Both services are available for around 40 to 60 per annum. I wasn't charged any set up fee. My MagBox is now in Cyprus, and I am using the Firestick at my UK address.

More very helpful replies, many thanks.....Pete (hope your well mate)so is it the istore that you use as a provider? if yours is the full package for 20 that sounds reasonable.will pop in there if so and talk to Nicos.cheers

Gary All well here mate. As i understand things the provider is in fact in Greece. So without over doing it here is a basic resume of the content The package gives you a lot of content you probably won't watch with TV and Movie series from Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Spain France, Germany, Scandinavia, Russia and the UK. Sports channels there are 238 of them and most seem to work including all the main UK ones. Childrens channels with some from UK. Documentary channels the usual Discovery type stuff Music channels English TV to include all the regional programming. Movie library with some 17752 recordings at present. TV series box sets 881 at present. So loads of stuff and whilst I have only been using it for some 2 months its very reliable. He only does 6 month or annual subscriptions. All you can do is pop in and see if its what you want. If you want him to load it to your own Mag then you will need to take that in with you. The shop doesn't normally open until after 1000 am and if he is out for some reason just call the phone number shown on the door. Good luck - it works for me.

Ok mate, thanks very much for the breakdown.not sure of the 6 month option though as would have preferred max 3 month just in case of any problems.will do a bit more homework.cheers

    Trev..

they dont get locked mate and anyone who has said That is not telling truth. what can happen is if a reseller tries to set a sub and the mac is already in use on main panel this could tell the reseller the mac is already in use and the iptv owner has to remove from main panel.....
there are many resellers and even sub resellers selling and new ones coming all the time trying to lure in at low costs like 20-30 per year. I have noticed on here that some are happy with 20 euro per month which is a lot for internet tv. american expats can pay even more as they truely dont know what is available.

How did you get 12 months for 30? It says 60 on their website.

Posted By: trevnhil

It seems like they have a sale on according to their Facebook page,, "Don't forget to tell your friends about our sale! Like and share our post" 12 months = 30 3 months = 15 1 Month = 12...

Was the post on FB announcing a sale over the weekend, so I took the plunge can`t really lose out at only 30 squids :D

This offer for SonarIPTV as now finished and the prices have returned to normal, got to say that this has been the best service I have used up to now :)

Once you have your mag box set up by a provider, is it then easy to swap to another one?tia

Posted By: paul1978

30 quid for iptv, they are using someones streams or they charge cheap ass for 12 months and do that magic trick and disappear. generally new providers do this go for high volume, and bugger off this has happened for as many years as i remember. plus they are bull shitters they claim on there page all providers went down on 18th of august............ REALLY ;-)

Yes once you pass them the MAC address of your box should be a doddle.

Posted By: wellerman

the shop i used locked my mag254, basically it had just 1 portal instead of 2, and i couldn't remove their system, when my subscription finished i had to factory reset and then install the image
