Well, I am a bit flabergasted, to say the least. As a long time member of the board I feel that the board has changed, and not all for the best. I have always been grateful for all the help and info. I have been given, but keeping everything pleasant seems a bit if a problem for some folk - sad really x

So just what is the point of your post? Is this in retaliation to the fact you feel peeved that someone made an adverse comment about you asking a question about the "sun lounger money thieves" in a previous post of yours by any chance?
It's a forum, its about people and life, times change and people change and in any event the world is made up of all kinds of different characters, some good, some bad and some in between, Happy New Year....

Well, we may, or may not, have changed over the past four and a half years but it is rather surprising (to say the least!!) that anybody could possibly be "flabbergasted" by the way of things! :? 8)

Apologies - I shouldn't have posted. I know I don't live there and obviously have appeared to be rather stupid/ flippant.

Not to me, as a long term member who used to participate a lot when you still had your property, and before your illness.
Just because you don't get over as much for long spells as you used to when you had your wee house, does not mean you can't ask questions about people you have got to know over your many visits to Cyprus.
I hope you are well and enjoy your next trip.

It takes character to make such an apology for choosing the unfortunate word "flabbergasted" which offended some people. Well done :!:

Yes, WS, several people have commented upon how the level of friendliness on the board has deteriorated and after being away for a while it would be more noticeable to you. After a short time you'll be able to recognise the (few, I'm pleased to say) that. seem to gain some kind of malicious pleasure from they like to call 'banter' but others might see as bullying. Welcome back, and non ilegitimi etc. (Yes, I know it's not real Latin).

Isn't that what Christophias said to Cameron when he arrived after he had been talked about at some EU gathering? "You are not a bastard".
Have to explain that this is a Cypriot expression, which is not rude in the colloquial.

Just booked to spend 2 months in Cyprus next year - I may be able to give more constructive comments after that...... if the old brain gets inot gear. Lovely to hear from some familiar folk. Pleased to say my old ticker is tick tocking away, but have been thinking of 3 old freinds lost , one who lived in Cyprus, Janet from macedonia in Kapparis and May Nelson who owned a place in Kapparis with her husband and Gorgeous George married to Maria whose family owns a place in Kapparis too. Bye for now x

Nice to hear that your old ticker is still ticking away, :) but is also nice to know you are still around after your illness, enjoy your long stay in Cyprus this year and keep thinking of the happy memories with your friends that you have lost. x
