has anyone been to the new bar/restaurant in Kapparis which i think is called Folio?? Is it a bar or a restaurant or both??

Hi, Haven't been in yet - it has just opened recently. As far as I am aware it is a restaurant but not sure if you can just go in for a drink. There hasn't been any publicity that I have seen so not sure on what exactly it serves, prices etc but will update if I find out any more info. HTH Cheers Steve

Morning all, I think this is the one that my son has been working. If so, I believe it will serve international cuisine. HTH Carol

I have just been for a meal in FOLIO with my boyfriend and i am pleased to say it was absolutly fantastic. I fully recommend it. The service and the food were outstanding. By far the nicest restaurant i have been to in Cyprus (and believe me i have been to a few). Definately worth a visit. It is opening properly next week and will be advertising with signs outside. What a treat!!

Just back from a birthday meal and the food and service was first class. There was 15 in our group and everything was served together and exactly as ordered. Highly recommend the place they even laid on a cake for free. Bill

Hi What sort of food do they serve and what were the prices like??

Posted By: Awmp

Had a varied menu. Prices are similar to Faliros and Kava. Well worth a visit for a special occasion.

I endorse what has been said. This restaurant is unlike any other in the area... for service, ambience, menu, presentation and taste. Truly international, along the lines of UK fine dining establishments. Outside, there's now a menu display, lighting, planting and the word RESTAURANT in huge granite (?) letters. We had a fabulous meal... though portions are large, and sauces are rich. The chef visited our table after the starter and mains. Started with a complimentary small cup of 'soup of the day' with home-baked bread with three butters, and ended with hot towels and choice of complimentary liqueur. They planned to open low-key and build it up and will be marketing more over the next months. Not overly expensive either. Brilliant evening, thank you Folio and I wish you all the best. Marion

I heard today Folio is looking for english speaking staff.

I may get jumped on for this but really low key putting the word restaurant in giant black letters out side, wouldnt it have been better to have put the name of the place. Maybe they think we wont be able to work it out!

I can't yet comment on the food but I drive by the restaurant several times a day and I really like the stylish look of the front of the building - very sleek, modern, clean lines. The addition of the giant granite letters which spell "RESTAURANT" are probably a personal thing, I didn't like them at first (I thought it was a bit OTT) but I have to say now they have outside tables behind them they seem to be growing on me  ...they sort of finish off the outside area like a fence or railing... Does anyone know the reason for the extravagant sparkle/lit up "YES, NO, YES" (or maybe its "NO, YES, NO"?! Before I am corrected  )in the window???

Couldn't resist... taken in May...

It's a talking point/marketing ploy... I think it's the answer to the question "Shall we?" eg book, try, go in.

Went to Folio last night and can agree with Marions post 100% The food and service was excellent and the prices not that bad. Would say it's a place to go for a special occasion, probably not every week. Well done Folio will definately visit again. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) :D

I'd go there this evening if I could! They now have a website which includes full menus: www.foliorestaurant.com Marion

Well, it's our wedding anniversary today and for a treat we went there for our meal. We'd heard so many good things about Folio and can endorse everyone of them. Well done George and your team - a fab restaurant - just about perfect in every way! Carol (Rob's Mum)
