Should Anorthosis progress to the next round of the Europa League (They won the first leg against Kearjeng of Luxemburg 5-0 last Thursday & play in Luxemburg on 9th) they will play Petrovac of Montenegro on 16th (in Larnaca) & 23rd of July. Omonia come into the second qualifying round, also playing at home at the GSP in Nicosia on 16th, against Torshaven of the Faroe Islands. Apoel play in the second qualifying round of the Champions League against Streymur of the Faroe Islands away on 14 or 15 July, at home on 21 or 22nd July.

The draw for the third qualifying rounds: Europa League Vaslui (Romania) v Omonia/Torshavn (Faroe Islands) Anorthosis Famagusta/Petrovac v Sturm Graz (Austria) or Siroki Brijeg (Bosnia and Herzegovina) (2-1 first leg) Champions League Apoel (if they hang on to their 2-0 first leg win) meet Rhyl or Partizan Belgrade (0-4 first leg) edit; Apoel score corrected

Vaslui (Romania) v Omonia/Torshavn (Faroe Islands) Omonia lead 4-0 1st leg Apoel (if they hang on to their 4-0 first leg win) meet Rhyl or Partizan Belgrade (0-4 first leg) Apoel lead 2-0 1st leg Sorry Kwacka, Both should go through but Anorthosis could struggle in the 2nd leg

In the words of J. Greaves, Esq. "football's a funny old game" - with Anorthosis it's not as clear cut as the other 2 - an away goal would make it interesting

Apoel win 3-0 (5-0 agg) who meet Partizan after their lucky 8-0 win against Rhyl in the Champions' League. Anorthosis go out of the Europa League, losing 3-1 (after extra-time) - they'll be regretting the penalty missed just before Petrovak got their second goal. Omonia win 4-1 (8-1 agg) and play SC Vaslui on 30th July (A) & 6th August (H). Rapid Vienna won their match 8-0 on aggregate and come up against the winners of the Cyprus Cup APOP/Kinyras Peyias FC. As the Pafos ground holds only 3,500 don't know if they'll be playing there or elsewhere on 30th e.g. Pafiakos Stadium (also in Pafos) holds over 10,000.

Is there a fixtures list for the coming season for ENP that is in English. Now i'm living here it would be good to get some football in. What sort of price for admission.
Posted By: Kwacka
I don't think the fixtures are out yet. Anorthosis Famagusta prices are 11 euro league games, 12.50 cup matches. I assume Paralimni are about the same. Season tickets about 350 euros.

Thanks Kwacka. I may pop down to one of the friendies that are mentioned above if I can find out kick off times. I wouldn't mind the Ayia Napa one as I noticed an ex Cardiff player is in there squad.

I am a it confused how they have a friendly against another division one side in Ermis. What time will the friendlies start, will they be evening kick offs and will they be priced the same as league games.
Posted By: uk_len
Hi Ian, That is the norm to play same league teams, they all do it, were due to play Achnas but that cancelled. I would guess it will be 7 o'clock kick offs but I will let you know when I hear. Not sure of the price but I wouldn't expect it to be very expensive. Cheers

Thanks Steve, Now i'm here for good I would like to see how it goes. I do feel its wierd playing the same teams. I'm used to British football. For instance my tean Cardiff had a tour of Portugal plus have played Chasetown 4-0, Swindon 0-0 (youth team) Celtic 0-0 and tomorrow Valencia. I suppose I have to get used to Cypriot football lol.

The main reason is the lack of teams that would be worth playing against in a friendly. You rarely find teams touring Cyprus pre season so teams like ENP have to go abroad to get games ( ENP are currently in Austria ). My team here Swindon Town toured in 1994 for example playing Apoel,Anorthosis and omonia but you never see that today, i don't know why ? Regards

Posted By: Kwacka
APOP Pegia made harder work of it, drawing 2-2 AET; losing 4-3 on aggregate. :(

Posted By: uk_len
Congratulations to Apoel, they have gone through to the Champions League winning 3-2 on aggregate. It could be Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal next at the GSP !!
