Hi all, Thought we should get a thread started in preparation  Here's what the paper said today: Celebrity Big Brother hits our screens tonight, with a brand new gang of VIP housemates at the mercy of that watchful eye. Celebrities rumoured to take part include David Hasselhoff, former Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd, Hi-Di-Hi! star Su Pollard and sex swap antiques expert Lauren Harries. Jade Goody, who found fame in Big Brother 3, is also tipped to be returning to the house with her mother, her lover and her grandparents. She will allegedly join the house days after the other contestants make their debut. Other names rumoured to be in the house include former Steps singer Ian 'H' Watkins, ex-chat show host Robert Kilroy-Silk, Starsky and Hutch TV actor Paul Michael Glaser, Jermaine Jackson, rocker Danny Tourette, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and former Chelsea footballer Jason Cundy and his wife Lizzie. But Channel 4 is refusing to confirm who's joining the fifth series of the reality show and are only giving clues to the identity of the contestants. One is an expert fly-fisher, another attended dance school, and one cites Baywatch as their favourite TV show. One of the stars attended a convent, another is a huge Big Brother fan, one is obsessed with Formula 1, one still lives with her mother and two of the celebrities have servants. Cheers Steve

Steve Can't Wait   Don't care if people think me a saddo - you can't beat a bit of reality t.v. And then a double helping of Desperate Housewives- Brilliant

Posted By: Buddy

I can't wait either. My husband thinks I'm really sad. As you said CBB followed by Desperate housewives, fantastic. Buddy

Its Good love it :D Jane

i dont really watch Big Brother always something on the other side ..plus i preferd the Jungle turned it over last night and caught a glimpse of Jade Goodys Mom What sex is that, Male or Female..i asked Dave god she is common as muck and got a mouth to go with it so now that iv seen her i might watch it :D they must be getting desperate for people to go on Dawn

Posted By: Hogarth55

:D Hi Dawn, I had a look last night, you are right about this Jacki, Ken Russel seemed to take one look and fled!, it's a bit dull though.

Posted By: Balconia

Must admit it is a bit slow this series - Too early to predict who will win but i hope it's Cleo or Dirk. Leo is playing up to the cameras and is a pain in the neck - Cant believe i thought he was the bees knees when i was a teenager !! Hope Jack goes tonight as i have only heard him speak a few times so he wouldn't be much of a loss.

Hi all, In the words of Ken Russell "I thought it was Celebrity Big Brother not Non-Entity Big Brother " Found this one a bit boring so haven't been too into it - As soon as Jade & Co got in I tuned out  She has had one go at it and was annoying then so didn't want to see her back. From what I have seen Dirk or Cleo to win. Cheers Steve

Posted By: dawnnett

Marion yes thats what im watching ...quite good too , dont you think i agree with you steve , Jade common goodys already had her bit of fame gera off and her family Dawn

Posted By: marion

Given there's quite a few of us who admit to watching these banal programmes, maybe Pam should consider getting a TV to show them in Hogies! Would make such a change to all those footie screenings that drive me nuts. Marion

Posted By: Balconia

Good idea Marion   For the last two summers i have had to post messages on the board trying to find somewhere that was screening Big Brother but have not had much success. Have to agree - sick to death of footie in bars!!

Posted By: dawnnett

Anyone watch shameless channel 4 Dawn

Posted By: marion

I'd rather go home and watch whatever I can find on my useless Hotbird satellite than have my eardrums battered by footie and the very nice people watching it. At least the drinks are cheaper  Marion

Funny - I've got one of them too
I know what you mean though- We have started spending some evenings in and bring a good selection of dvds over with us. You can actually get some quite good ones for a fiver from Woolies and Asda. I buy a couple every month and we usually have a good selection by the time the holidays come.
Stops the kids from fighting all the time on the hot afternoons too !

Steve , Yes great Shameless :D only wish it was on more sometimes we switch over to E4 but then iv got nothing to watch the week after :( because iv seen the next weeks when we were on holls last year we taped it on sky plus it was great watching about 2 hours of it :D its funny i can stand all the bad language in that ,,they put it over funny but that Goody woman ...well shes as rough as a bag of nails she would make the Galagers look like saints Dawn

i've been watching Celebrity Big Brother here in Cyprus and love it!! I get a kick out of Shilpa, she's such a princess!! And when she snapped on Jacquie for calling her Princess.. well god that was priceless!! Missed it lastnight as i went to our Thursday Quiz then to bed early, anything good happen?

Posted By: kipper889

Well, Leo has now escaped through a wall by using a broom apparently!!! That is three down...How are endemol gonna cope with that? I think this may be the last cbb we see. Ruth

Posted By: Balconia

Hi Ruth Hope you are ok - i have missed your input on this thread as normally you tend to like the reality shows as much as i do   I think the trouble with this years show is that there are not many 'real' celebrities- I think that Leo had illusions of grandeur in terms of his career- i certainly don't recall him being as big a star as Elton John. Jade was annoying enough on BB and i must admit was a little sad to see her re-enter the BB house. Now i like Dirk- he has a very dry sense of humour which i like and he is still easy on the eye  Cleo seems lovely and is coming across well. Jermaine is ok but the rest of them are a bit characterless- I don't think it's half as good as last years celebrity BB - Though i think i say that every year

Shameless is the funniest thing on TV . I have even watched next weeks on E4 . But just make sure the kids r in bed

Posted By: dawnnett

is next weeks shameless funnier then this weeks i didnt watch it ? i love shameless but didnt think it was that good this week Dawn

I'm not a Big Brother watcher, but you would have to have been on another planet (or in Cyprus even..) to have missed the bullying and racism row that has erupted. It really makes me cringe to see the likes of Jade Goody being given such a huge public platform for their brand of crass ignorance. The attitudes and behaviours these people express are, and always have been, a part of British society and culture. Just pop down to your local pub and hear the views frequently expressed in everyday conversations. The difference is that today, programmes like Big Brother give them such wide exposure and acceptance. Consequently, there is a faction of British society which is encouraged in its abhorrent, arrogant and racist attitudes. This particularly applies to young impressionable people. Generally, I am proud of the work and progress made in the UK over the last 30 years, especially in schools, regarding cultural understanding, acceptance and respect for others. This programme shows though that we still have a long way to go yet!

Keith, Good Posting & well put! I would also add that I think that although Jade is getting most of the blame - Jo & Danielle are equally responsible. At first I had thought that some of the comments were just said out of ignorance but as time has gone on you can see that there are definately some racist undertones. Last nights show certainly didn't make for pleasant viewing and I just wish that one of the other celebs in the house would develop a backbone and stand up to Jade. However as Jermaine said you can't reason with stupidity! The only winners in this will be Channel 4 who have watched what was a pretty boring series get a fantastic amount of free publicity! Cheers Steve

Too true Steve! As I said, I am not normally a Big Brother watcher, but have tuned in to see what all the fuss was about ...along with thousands of others!

Posted By: marion

Heard on the radio that Channel 4 have threatened to pull the plug on the show if it gets any worse... And Jade has now apparently blown her future. Marion

Posted By: greeny

Hi  Not good to see & hear women bitch and gang up on 1 person but jade dont stands for England.End of the day its a show and i feel one of the other house mates should tell jade to shut up where the men. Jane

Whilst all the publicity is about supposed racist comments geared towards the bollywood minor star, nothing is being said about Jermaine Jackson and his comments that Jackie Goody was white trash. Sky news raised this comment this morning and yet it seems to have disapperaed from the news. Of course the whole programme is crap but the publicity generated will probably mean even more premium rate phone calls are made as people start to vote off, i suspect Jade, and the loss of Carphone warehouse and its sponsorship will be minimised.

I believe that was because he said something along the lines of -
some people would call her white trash - I wouldn't because she's a human being.
I just wish they would put someone in who could counter Jade -
Pete Burns from last year would have had so much fun if he was in
Wonder what they'll replace the Car Phone Warehouse ad's with now??
BTW she's hardly a minor star - over 50 films - modelling etc and well known.
Cheers

i agree with u steve jade is getting all the blame but jo and danielle are just as bad and the only parts i have seen are the ones on the news even danielles best friend said in an interview that she's never known her to be like that that before i think they'll all be in for a shock when they come out also the perfume shops withdrawn jade's perfume  sammi

It's no wonder that the Anti Bullying campaigns in schools do not work when there is, for all to see such blatant bullying as has been shown on celebrity bb. This show has a wide teenage audience and it's a sad message that's being portrayed to impressionable teenagers. It's sad to note too, that not one housemate had the guts to publically defend Shilpa and stand up against the bullies. Ok they will have their say in the safety of the diary room or the privacy of the bedroom, but not one of them has told Jade or her the equally accountable Joe and Danielle to 'wind their necks in !!' Gutless the lot of them. Still want Dirk to win though - he's luuurverly

Posted By: Steve - SJD

Hi, No public audience tonight for the eviction - wonder why :? My money is on Jade going but you can never be sure #-o This has definately caught the producers on the hop and am not sure they knew what they were going to do last night. Cheers Steve

I'll definitely be watching this evening but... While looking at the schedules, I notice American Idol is on for another season starting this evening... I'll just have to watch the repeat on Sunday evening (all four hours of it!). Marion

Posted By: Balconia

Would really like Dirk to win - or Jermaine . Hope Danielle gets evicted first this evening.
